^^^^ and if your car is a track monster, you shouldn't be buying NSR cams
Damn Skippy Tex . I looked at these and decided that if I was gonna do the cams (and I will) I am going to go big and grab up the BBR Stage 2 or Comp Stage 3's, springs, port the heads, etc for some real gains. As a side note, from what I hear the sound is almost unchanged with the Comp NSR's FWIW. Now at some point I need to change my sig. [:@]

The gains with any cams for our cars for some reason just seem inconsistent... some guys have had amazing results with helper mods also but others have lost torque for horsepower which again like stated already on this thread, is unacceptable.

Even though you lose torq, that was a graph without anything other than a CAI i think....i would thinks with 4.10s or 3.73s and UDPs and other supporting mods, the torq loss would be different and not as noticeable.

I might be getting these, not sure yet.....most people that have gotten them state that they like the difference and that the lower torque is not terrbily bad

After reading this thread this morning, I was having second thoughts about getting the NSR cams from Brenspeed so I wrote to them and asked this exact question. Below is the reply from Brent:

"Yes the cams loose low end but you have to look at the big picture. Lets say from 3K to 3.5K you loose 8 foot pounds of torque (something you will not likely feel). From 4,000 to 6,500 you gain an average of 20 foot pounds of torque. Then you have HP which is not really lost down low with gains up top near 25 HP sometimes even more.

So does it lose torque? The answer is yes. It only looses maybe 3% of torque down low over a small RPM range which is something most people do not feel.

Most people do not understand that and get scared at the word "lost" torque because they dont understand what is lost in 1st gear is such a small % you dont feel it (or most dont feel it)."

ditto..I was thinking the same thing being that with shorter gears it's mostly in the sweet spot anyways..

Well I would assume that with the supporting mods, the gains from cams are probably amazing. That actually brought up a good point though (case ace), because the loss in torque COULD be small, but I have seen guys who have lost 20 ft lbs and gains 20 hp...

Can anyone explain? I really want to know if you have current mods such as intake, gears, and full exhaust if there would be any torque loss at all...
