Default Problem removing stud from manifold

I began to install my full assembly slp xpipe today, and ran into a problem. I unhooked the sensors and removed the stock h pipe, and then started to remove the stud from the manifold. However, a 16 mm socket was too big and a 15 mm socket was too small. I also tried the US system with a 5/8 and 9/16, but turned out the same results. Is there some special socket I need to buy, or is something else wrong? Any help would be great. I'm ready to get this thing installed. Thanks.

I was wondering why I even need to remove the studs from the manifolds. It seems like I could just attach the pipe and reuse the studs, but the instructions say to remove them and use the bolts provided. It just blows my mind that neither the 15 (which I think should fit) or the 16 fit! Thanks for the suggestion Hammeron... I don't know what else could work.

Just reuse the stock studs. If you can't for some reason. try using a Craftsman Pocketsocket, sear also makes something like this which is my favorite, the harder you pull, the tighter it grips. I don't know the name it's sold under though but I got mine at Sears.
