More people use SCT than anything else, that i've seen. But, i purchased my diable long before i knew much about the tuners. The diablo isn't bad, but i had to drive about 2 hours to get it dyno tuned.
Right to my point. What if it were worse and there was no reputable tuners within 500 miles of you that routinely used the Diablo. Then your options are limited to strictly a mail-order tune. That alone isn't bad unless you want to make changes that the mail order shop hasn't tuned for before. Simply buying a SCT tuner because "most people have them" could be a bad move. Suppose you live fairly close to a very reputable shop that happens to prefer the Diablo, you plan to do many other performance mods that would effect your tune. That shop may not have the SCT software or even if they do, most of their time is spent with Diablo and that's where their expertise is. Now that entire example continues with they prefer that 1 handheld, that's where they have their experience and they also prefer a certain intake. They have many hours tuning on the dyno for that intake but you just go out and buy brand X intake because Joe Online bought one and it looks cool and cost $20 less. Yes the tuner can probably tune for that on the dyno but that's not where all his experience is and the result will be more expensive and probably not quite as good.

Personally I think it's pretty much a wash, SCT and Diablo both make good handheld tuners. The important thing is having a system that will meet your needs going forward so you don't have to go buy another one. -Joe

^^^Thats exactly my point. I should have researched the performance shops close to me, purchased the tuner that they had software for.
Don't get me wrong, the diablo is a great tuner and is easy to use, but more shops use SCT than diablo. Every shop here in ohio uses SCT, i had to drive to kentucky to get my car tuned.

I would not spend a 1/2 penny at RPMoutlet. I have both bama and brenspeed, with xcal2. I prefer brenspeeds tune over bama actually but both are top notch tuners and thier tunes reflect that. Also I'm not sure about now but thier was a time when SCT was more widely supported then predator.

Avoid RPM OUTLET like the plague.
Too many forum horror stories.....

I'm getting the diablo sport tuner from bamachips (it should be here tomorow).I've heard good things about his tunes. As for the tuner itself. It seems to be able to make adjustments to more things than sct.

i got my c&l racer intake and tunes from joe at dynospeed. got to trust the guy who has tuned 3 out of the last 5 beast of the streets in 5.0 magazine. love mine. and i hear he can do wonders on dynotunes. but either of the names above all have great tunes. bama's race is insane for daily driving. not to sure with brenspeed have never gotten a chance to ride in one tuned my brent. might have to buy one just to see how they all stack up against each other. good luck in your decision

You can't really go wrong with either sct or diablo. However like the other said stay away from rpmoutlet. I dealt with them before and will never do it again. But if you plan on getting a dyno tune then check and see what software the tuner you are going to use has.

I've used a Predator and an XCal and I like the Predator more.
