Hi,

I just got a recall reminder regarding Recall 08C02 (Reprogram Restraint Control Module)

Does anyone know what that is?

I'm guessing that's the recall to load new flash code into the module that controls the air bags. I had my dealership do it when I had the car in for something else. It's just a software thing, no hardware as far as I know.

IIRC, the timing that the passenger side airbag is deployed at could cause serious injury to small occupants in the passenger seat. The recall updates the software in the RCM to allow the airbag to deploy earlier.

It's specifically for small passengers unbuckled in the passnger seat.
A little overkill, because that should never happen, but you shouldn't be able to sue McDonalds because their coffee is hot either.
Ford is just covering their butts.

Should be in and out within a half an hour, doesn't affect the pcm, so your tune should be okay.
