LGNDLIME05GT,

How much whine are you hearing? Can you hear it with the windows up and the stereo on at a moderate level (i.e. a talk show playing so that you can hear itwith your caridling)? What kind of RPM numbers are you seeing it drop too when you let off of the gas? Does this RPM drop correct itself, or does it cause the engine to stall and/or sputter? What does your car idle at (approximately) when warm with the AC off? Keep in mind that there is a noticable difference in performance with the AC compressor engaged due to the parasitic drag on the engine, so what we are trying to determine is if this is normal, or if there is something seriously wrong with your car .

Is your AC blowing out cold air? Maybe you have a coolant leak and the whine is coming from the pump cavitating?

It could be a bad tensionerpulley...A/C would put more strain on it and make it more noticeable! could also be bad bearings in the compressor.
