anyone doing a filter relocation kit?oil cooler?

Use the forged bits from Canton, instead of the cast parts available just about anywhere.
Put a thermostat on your cooler. Oil needs to get up to about 180* to work correctly. For a purely street car, consider a heat exchanger instead of a cooler. You'll get more stable oil temps.
IMO, all external oil lines should be AN. Not necessarily braided steel, but certainly AN. Then newer blue push on hoses are very good, and easy to work with.

i personally dont think a cooler is necessary. The front of the engine is cooled greatly when its moving, also the oil pan isnt obstructed from airflow either, so its getting cooled already.

yeah,im dropping the cooler ideal, just going to use a dual filter relocation kit with some good lines. the extra oil and moving the filters off the block should allow some extra cooling and im sure that will do just fine.plus make me a few extra inches for the turbo piping.

People have done alot of testing with oil temperatures, and unless you are having a problem with your vehicle in particular, the engines and oil in these cars have been found to work fine.
Even with forced induction.
I thought about it a long time ago, and did some searching and came up with nothing.
The temps dont have any problems.

i did it on one of my other cars, and felt the "restriction" until i removed it.

i see your point, ill wait till i get under there and figure out my route for the pipes.i was thinking it would help:
1) reduce temps for the added heat of the turbo
2) give more room for the pipes if i need it

u'll most likely never run into oil temp issues. the turbo doesnt really add any more heat to the oil, as long as you're using full synthetic, you'll have no issues with it. the fact that the oil pan and filter itself is already exposed to fresh air when the car is moving.
my daily driver is a turbo'd RSX, 20psi, stock motor, auto. 82k miles running strong.

I think he is worried about heat soak onto the oil filter and ease of filter chnage. I have a turbo on my car and the pipes are close to the filter and doing an oil change is a real pain.

ive gone back and forth on doing it or not doing. im going to do it, the powerhouse kit actually comes with a filter re-location. it will free up more room for the pipes and make it easier to change the filter. i know once i get the pipes under there it will be a real pain to change the filter with them in the way. im just going to add the kit but keep it simple.
