Default Bassani X-Pipe (opinions)

Just bought my 05 mustang gt about a month ago and have never owned a car like it!

But quick opinions from people if Bassani X-pipe with no cats makes a louder exhaust sound and if it will do anything like messing up and codes. I have Magnaflow axle-back right now but hope to soon switch to something else.

Thanks for the help and im more then welcome to hear anybodys opinions on what you think I should do!

Bassani off road x is stupid loud. But so would any other off road pipe. I wouldn't get the Bassani again if I could do it over. It's high quality/ made well, but being a modular design it leaked like crazy from all the slip fits. After it was welded it was ok, but that kind of defeats the purpose. No codes if you're tuned. If you have the Magnapaks it'll sound great, if you have the squarish ones not so good.

Like Blue said, it does leak and it leaks bad. I had a cat go out on mine after 2 months, but by then, it was welded up, so it was garbage. If you want to get an off road, go with Pypes, a lot cheaper and it was a 2 piece, now I think its a 3 piece. If you have the Magnapacks, it should sound pretty good. If you have the regular Magnaflow axle backs, then you are going to get a lot of trumpeting and its going to sound pretty raspy.

How can you tell if a cat goes out on you?
+3 on the leaking. Doesn't matter how tight you clamp it down, it'll leak on you

Any midpipe that clamps together will leak and rattle like crazy. they all need to be welded not clamped, and then theyre fine! if your just looking for an O/R Xpipe..i think bassani is a little overpriced, better off with pypes or UPR etc!

Yeah, the whole thing with the Bassani is that you could go from cats to off road. When you look at it, it requires disassembly to switch between them and then the whole leaking issue. So by the time you figure that you have to have it welded, it takes away the reason you bought it in the first place. Like I said, I'm happy with it now, but if I had to do it again, I could have bought a dedicated offroad for a fraction of the price of the Bassani.
