Steeda axlebacks installed! 1st impression
After watching hundreds of youtube videos, I finally chose and ordered a set of Steeda axlebacks from Lethal Performance.
I put them on in my garage in a little over an hour. They lined up pretty well and I DID NOT have to loosen the mid pipe to get them to line up and center!
After everything was tight I fired it up and listened to the newear candy exiting through the Steedas! The Steedas sound GREAT!! Drone is present between 1500-1900 RPM, but it is not unbearable. They are definitely louder than stock, however I think I need more. For anyone looking at the Steedas, theyhave anice, deep growl to them! Overall I am very, very happy with the sound.
In the future I think I will go with a set of longtubes and a catted x-pipe. Will this increase the tone in terms of loudness?

I love my Steeda axle-backs! By far the best sounding mufflers for the S197 IMO. They will break-in a little and quiet down a bit after a few thousand miles - but still sound great!
As I have stated many times in the past, the only people that do not like the drone from 'stinger' axle-backs are the ones with an automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, I hold it in 4th when cruising around town (under 55 MPH). I only shift into 5th gear when on the highway.
