Unhappy Check Gas Cap Light keeps coming on!!

So this has been an issue for awhile. The "check gas cap" comes up on my digital message display constantly. After taking off the original cap and retighting it several times to no avail. I finally went out and bought a entire new cap. All was well for a couple hundred miles and then it started coming on again!! I proceeded to twist the cap off again and retighten but it doesn't fix it. I don't have any engine lights on yet but with the first gas cap if I continued to reset the "check gas cap" message eventually I would get an engine light. When I pulled codes it was for evaporative gases escaping the gas tank or something along those lines. I am sure it is going to come up again eventually. Does anyone have a cure for this problem??

Would that be considered part of emissions and, if so, would you still be under warranty?

I had this happen to me before but only for a couple of times.
It never came back for the last 15,000 miles. Knocks on wood.

Dealer fixed this for me. I can't even remember what was wrong.

No, I am not under warranty anymore. The car only has 9,000 miles on it and I have probley put on 1000 since buying it last January. The problem started after I had drove it for a few hundred miles. Changing the gas cap fixed it temporary and no it has returned again. I am waiting for it to throw codes again. I know the last time it threw two codes one was for the gas cap being off/loose and the other was something along the lines of gases escaping the cap.
