I feel like I really got a deal on the install. Guy I know works at a performance shop. He offered to do them on the 'side' for $325. The shop he works for wouldve charged $600. But hes a friend and he needed the money so it worked out for both of us.

Yeah, that part of the tune needs worked out IMO. When its in Drive but at a stoplight, the idle goes to 5-600 rpms and the car shakes (like an old 60s muscle car, not sure if I like it) but when in Park, the idle goes back to 8-900 rpms and no shaking.

Tombstang-- yes mine does sound very close to that one in the vid. Now imagine that with a heavier, lopey sound and thats what I have.

You have an X-Cal or something right?

You can set the idle higher if you want.

You have 2 idle's one for in gear and one for neutral.

Just raise the in gear one to 800rpms and you should be good.

Congrats on the install.

Ah, ok. That should be a quick fix then. Shows how much I really know about my XCal2 and the settings. Hopefully that will also stop the car from shaking too. Decided I didnt really like that. Thanks guys

The shaking is mostly due to the longer duration of the cam. Upping the idle rpm will help but it should still rock slightly.

To me that is part of the allure of these cams.

Trust me girls will like the shaking

I used to ride sportbikes and once you got over 9k rpms the whole bike would vibrate. It was always easy to find an attractive passenger

"You know you love sportbikes when 9k rpms is midrange."

Yeah, that fixed the issue. The idle was set for 580rpms when in Drive and 780 when in Neutral. So, I bumped up the Drive idle to 680. It smoothed it out from shaking as bad but still has that nice lopey sound.... and a little shake

Youre right about the sportbike shaking too. Back in the day, I had a 600R Ninja. Finding a nice female passenger was never a problem : )
