I've got the MRT stainless H pipe on my 2005, with the high flow cats.

MRT makes the H pipe right in their shop, and as far as I know they are the only ones who have an H pipe for the 197.

Before getting the H pipe, I had Flowmasters with the stock exhaust, and kept the Flowmasters with the H pipe. The difference in the sound was very noticeable! Much throatier, more of a muscle car sound to me.

I don't know who makes the cats, but I'll try and find out.

I'll have my installer order their catted H pipe tomorrow. If it gets to him by next Tuesday, it'll be installed then. I'll let you know how it goes. Hmmm, maybe a before and after video?

Yes please on the video, very interested. I did some searching today and it seems they had some cat problems a while back.

I want something that is louder than the stock H but not insane loud where I will get hassled.

Hopefully you get this installed as I will need to order mine next week. It is between this and a O/R prochamber.

Thanks eagerly waiting.

jcthomas,

Any clearance issues with the cats? How far down the pipe are they moved from the stock location. Any MIL eliminators needed?

Thanks!

Why not just get the Pypes offroad H-pipe and the Pypes cats and build your own high-flow catted H-pipe? I did this with my prochamber, and there is no welding at all. You just have to cut the downpipes with a hacksaw and put the cats in.

Just checked the price. The cats are over $200 each, plus the pipe. I'll try the MRT for less money and a little less work to install. Thanks though.

Warmachine, I toyed with that idea too, but I am not a fan of ceramic cats. Alot of aftermarket ones tend to break down over time and can "clog" your exhaust and you loose power.

That is why I am constantly back and forth between running cats and not.

But if you really want to go cheaper, get some magnaflow cats ($60 each from summit) and have them welded into your stock H pipe. Exhaust shop wouldnt charge you much for it. You would be done for under $200 easy probably more like $175.

I just wish there was some place you could go and listen to all these different exhaust set ups in person before buying.

I really dont want to run cats, but I am affraid an O/R H will be too loud.

Try these, not an H but the price is right: $289 + Shipping = $309

And you can get them here: http://stores.ebay.com/Blue-Oval-Ind...QQftidZ2QQtZkm
