Exhaust rattle

Exhaust rattle
Well i installed my JBA axlebacks two weeks ago and there seems to be a rattle AFTER I drive for 5-10 minutes (ie after the pipes warm up). Also, this rattle starts when I am just at idle, but then starts when I am at constant speed after about 10-15mins of driving. Now, for the installation, I had to loosen the clamps connecting the h pipe to the midpipes as well as the muffler clamps. This is probably what is causing the problem. But, I had a family friend (who is a heavy mechanic and probably should have done the installation in the first place) look at everything yesterday and we tightened the muffler clamps up really well. However, the rattle has not gone away. He also commented on how the h-pipe clamps were "basically the worst ones you could get" despite being stock. Should I go get different clamps for the h pipe? Or should a get down and give it another go? Or should I dish out for a shop to take a look them selves?
Thanks if you can help out. Kinda feeling *****y today. Got a really "unfair" speeding ticket (IE, EVERYBODY on the road was getting pulled over) and I'm gettin a cold so this exhaust issue is kinda getting on my nerves.

A very common source of rattle on aftermarket exhaust is the hangers on the mufflers, the bent rods welded to the mufflers. Sometimes they are too long and they hit the metal bumper under the car when the exhaust heats up. I've had to cut a little off of the drivers side rear hanger on at least three brands of mufflers I've had on my car.

drive it till the rattle comes up jack it up and take a peek. Just carefull not to get burnt tho. Sounds like your pipe is expanding and the hangers are metal on metal with something.
I had the same prob with my boomtubes. Ended up cutting off the hangers and relocating them.

I wouldn't pass on replacing the clamps. The stock and aftermarket clamps on my Stingers looked the same but I had a rattle at around 1600 RPM. I replaced the axleback clamps with U-bolts and all was well.

this reminds me of a similar experience I had with a 99 GT i owned a couple of cars back. As it turned out my Bassani X-pipe I was running had a metal bassani name badge in the center that was basically rived on. At least one of the rivets broke and it would rattle on the pipe making a really annoying sound. Took me forever before I actually figured out what the cause of the noise was... what a headache!
