Gotta respectfully disagree. A modded tune gets rid of the "throttle nanny" which plagues these cars with the stock tune. And that's an improvement which is very noticeable even to those who do not race.

I'd rather have my stock power and the $600 bucks! Especially since I didn't qualify to get a stimulus check!
Obviously you have never driven a car with a CAI/Tune....here is no way with an extra 25 HP and throttle response that they give that you wouldnt say that it is the best 600 you can spend.

so aside from after-market CAI's, has anyone installed the one from the Bullitt which is a FRPP component?

Go used. I bought a used C&L and tuner for cheap. Then all I had to do was purchase the tune. The improved throttle response alone is worth the money. I hated the stock throttle delay after coming from the old school throttle in my 2000 Mustang GT.

i did the same thing gettin a used C&L and tuner for cheap! definitely a good idea, saves a few hundred bucks
