Traction?
Today I was messing around with my tuner and I decided to take traction controll off. After I did this, the idiot light telling me that my traction control needs to be serviced went on.
This wasn't really surprising, but it's there constantly and I wanted to make sure this was alright.

just to clarify, that light :P

xcal does it aswell I have a tune I load that has it turned off automatically aswell.
that light is just to tell you that it is turned off, not a error or anything telling you it needs to be serviced.

Alright, I just wanted to make sure before I drove it too much
Thanks
I also noticed that every time I start it after I change the tune it takes a couple tries to get it to start D:
Any idea on why that is?

It does disable it but causes an error light which is just as annoying as turning off the button yourself on the dash !! lol Trust me our cars need some TCS for goofing around especially in bad weather, I leave mine on unless I go to track, either way I don't think totally disabling it is a good idea.
well i disagree. I believe that the TCS is the bain of my existance! I hate when my computer cuts fuel just when i want it and it could even cause engine damage as the loss of fuel could lean out your motor. Screw the tires give me spin and save the motor. by the way I only drive in the winter with tcs off. learn how to control a spin/fishtail and your much better off then avoiding one. start in a parking lot and the gradually move your way up. soon enough you'll be taking every single chance you can get to slide around corners at 45 degrees... ummm so much fun.. im kinda looking foreward to ice. By the way quick lesson:
Brakes are a no no, the make you spin more no matter what position the wheel,
gas can either make you go furtheraround or bring you back depending on position of wheel, counter steer and gas go back stay in the turn and gas go more.
dont ever turn the wheel too fast or they loose traction too and thats bad.
start slow and move you way up. just get it sideways and keep it there and so on

I had a tune that turned it off. I got tired of seeing that error light showing up right in front of me all the time. So I said screw it and reloaded my old tune. I have an XCAL2 but had brenspeed send me a tune with the TCS shut off.
I would prefer TCS to default off. Make you push the button to turn it on vs. the other way around.

07musclestang, sounds like you'll be posting about how you ended up in a ditch or through a fence at some point this winter. I have 37 years of snowbelt driving experience and I DO agree about going out and getting the feel for your car. Even with my SUV, I don't kick it into 4WD unless conditions are absolutely horrid, less I lose my winter driving skills. But pushing it the way you describe for fun and, yeah, you'll be supporting some towing company's annual costs.
