front end vibration
Any one experiencing front-end vibration problems? I had some Panther wheels with Toyo tires, but replaced the tires with Nittos hoping the vibration was the tires after re-balancing the wheels 3 times. Seems to happen only at about 60mph and only when it is cold. Thanks.
You should be able to take it to your local tire shop and have them check your wheels and tires for vibration, it takes more then just a simple balance sometimes. They shold have a balancer that can check for a wheel that is out of round or a tire that is bad. I've not really had any problems with Toyo tires, you should check your wheels. Thats my two cents.
I had a simlar problem with new tires on my F-150. After the 3rd time rebalancing they determined with their tire rep that 3 of the new tires were out of round - so they put 3 new ones on there and problem solved. If you have a bad WHEEL - then I would demand a new one - not settle for a "fix".

Yes, try a tire shop with a road force balancer. Will detect rim/tire runout. And they can also match mount if a tire/wheel is out of round to achieve best balance.
Also Static balance (wheel weights on inside only) can dramatically reduce the ability of the tire/wheel combo to balance out..
Tape on weights on the inside are recommended if you dont have, or want the option to put them on the outside of the wheel.
The road force balancer can also set up to hide the stick on weights behind the spokes of a wheel for appearance purposes.
The bigger the wheel/tire the harder to balance.
Also be carefull, most tire shops have general service guys (18yr olds making min wage) for tires/balancing, and may not take the proper care in working with your wheels.
Id tell you to swing by my shop, but South Burbs of Chicago is probly a long way off, lol
Just an update and tip... I was having some vibration problems and the cause were wrapped brake rotors. I had the wheels balanced more than 3 times, changed wheels place and so... (I think the rotors are crap. After heavy road racing or track racing thew wrapped and the rotors have less than 6000 miles on it).
Hope this helps for anybody with this problems.
