Here is a video from a few months back. The setup that I have has that 60s muscle car sound which isnt the reason I bought them but am happy with the results. If you are into the really rough idle then you need to get the Hot Rod NSR cams. As you can tell from the video the motor revs quicker than stock and is pretty loud. The interior noise level is loud as well but this is one of those deals that you either think it is beautiful music or you hate it. Me love it Wife hates it....I have thought about posting some more video's accelerating etc. but I dont want to be the one that has a home video of himself destroying his car.

lol that was funny about not destroying your car...It sounds beautiful though and to think that my g/f hates the sound level now so imagine when I do headers and the cams lol

It depends on wether or not you mostly want a track car or a street car, if you want a track car get slicks/driveshaft+loop torque converter and gears.. otherwise, my plan is:

Kooks LT Headers -$1200 (the best rwhp gains I've seen come from kooks)
Spydershaft - $600
4.10 Gears - $175
UDP - $200
Drag radials- $400

If you having a shop install that is the end of the list.. should put you around 315-325rwhp and will put you slightly over budget depending on how much the shops charge (might have to remove UDPs from the list if thats the case)

blowers suck.. hahahaha! l love that s%^&. If I'd known how much difference cams make, they would have been my FIRST mod. When you can run it up to 6500+ rpm still pulling it's a beautiful thing. I think about how many street races I had where we're neck and neck and at 5500 rpm my car just rolled the f@#$ over. ARGHHH!

Not anymore

I know guys doing 12.2-12.3 with stock cams, so they aren't absolutely necessary, but they do help at the track. I'd get your upper and lower control arms in, aluminum driveshaft, longtube headers, underdrive pulleys, sticky tires, custom tune.

Cams aren't going to give you much bottom end wise, but if this is for racing then go for it.

Other than my cams (those are the best mod I've done, no contest), I would place my mods (in order of importance "to me") in this order:

1. MGW shifter (made all the difference in drivabilty of the 5M car).
2. GEARS (big difference in acceleraton).
3. CAI/tune (BIG improvement here too).
4. Lightweight driveshaft. I actually "felt" this mod more than any other except the cams, gears and CAI/tune. The car revs much easier and doesn't seem to bog as much (or at all now) like with the stock driveshaft.
5.. Longtube headers. I'm at a loss at to what these gained me along with cat-back. They sure "sound" a lot better! and the HD engine mounts seemed to make the power exhange much smoother/quicker. (keeps everything aligned better).

I still plan to do electric water pump and aftermarket COP's (ignition) along with a bunch of suspension work but that's my opinions so far on what I have.
