HT0 plugs N/A

Wouldn't a colder plug than necessary cause more carbon build up? It's likely that your engine will still ping with the HTO's and you'll get less performance. What I did was run my 91 tune with 93 octane and added 2 degrees of timing. I could never get the 93 tune from brenspeed to work right. Even after he adjusted it, it would still cause pinging.
I wish I new how much timing was in the 93 tune. I've had zero pinging after the whipple install, even in the dead of summer, weird.

and was assured by my father ( built custom hot rods for 20 years ) and my buddies Dad ( who built their modified race car from the ground up ) that there is absolutely no harm in running a colder plug even if you don't "need" it.
I have 31 years of experience as a drag racer and a former mechanic. I have personally experienced this problem in the past. That is a fact not an opinion.
There are guys on these forums that have fouled their HTO plugs on forced induction too. As you said they arent running boost all the time and that is why they get fouled sometimes.

That's nice but the fact is if your plugs are too cold you build up excess carbon and will foul the plugs. I am glad your dad says it is okay and has 20 years of expoerience with rods.
