Hi, wierd question, but i go to install my K&N cold air intake today, and part of the steps is to remove the hycarbon trap from the stock intake and put it in the K&N, i go to do this, but mine dosen't have one? Did the 05 GT's not come with one? I was thinking of just putting the intake on without it, but i came to thinking that might let in to much airflow and lean out. Thanks for any info, Jordan.

 

it was only in the 05's. in 06 it was already removed, freeing up about 5hp!

 

my 05 GT came with it and i had it in my K&N intake for about 100 miles before removing it and noticing that my intake got louder. I didn't notice any gain in HP but i don't think you would really feel 5 more but i don't think it's really needed.

 

Did the tune come with the car? If so it already acct'd for the lack or removal of the trap. K&N you can run with no tune and like lazy said it was just louder and no real discernible HP increase.
