N/A Engine build questions
For the longest time this is the combination of my goals for the car, but clearly pricing has kept me back and most of all not having the proper knowledge of what my possibilities are.
1) Stroker. Clearly an expensive route it seems for little gain, I've heard 298 is the safest one could go on our block.
2) High Compression. The most important piece of the puzzle for me. How high can I go, and what do I need to get there?
3) What other upgrades would I need? Is it necessary to upgrade the fuel system, and what else?
4) Driveability. With a fitting cam upgrade, obviously a little aggressive to gain some decent power. Would it be hard to keep as a daily driver?

keeping it as a DD is totally based on cam choice
gears you can live with aslong as your not driving on the autobahn
after you get an intake / tune (intake either steeda 90mm, C&L, or even JLT) (tuner SCT or Diablo (but get the SCT))
The next big big gain is heads, there not cheap, 3k for a pair but 70 hp is one hell of a gain.
cmdp and udp are cheap and easy and do help both are good for about 15hp combined
cams are the heart of a motor so do your research and find what you want,
ive built my whole motor (in my head) except for cams (still cant decide)
headers are good for some power but LT's should be used with heads
there is other power adders other then listed above such as intake manafold and electric h20 and a few others but i would do CAI/Tuner first, then if you can afford it heads, if not the small 2 to keep you going untill you can afford the heads
you can build a beast 450ish without breaking into the bottom end NA but Big but, its gonna probably cost more then FI
Stroking i would do last, I would stroke the motor as im rebuilding the bottom end to hold power, the money your gonna spend stroking it is better used on heads IMO
after you got the rest then stroke/ forged bottom end and titanium springs and the works, now if i can only decide on a cam and come up with some cash.... damn gotta put in more overtime.. ok off to work in the morn.

your compression will go up with the heads a bit but not much
but how high do you wanna go?? well if you plan on ever going FI in the future i wouldnt go higher then 9/1
pure na 10.5/1 is good maybe 11/1
