My 'Bama tune came set to 6,800. I was doing so flashing this weekend and though I'd look at the extra settings. I ended up changing it to 6,700rpms, lol.

Did you (or anyone else reading this) ever check the difference in ET/trap speed between the stock calibration and the race/tq tune at track?

pretty sure Doug sets it at 6800, you can ask him to make it any number you want. the stock motor will not make that much more power above 6300 or so IIRC. you can also adjust the limiter on the hand held tuner. IMHO set the limiter 300 or so above where u want to pull the gear

When I was stock with Steed UDP as my only mod, my best 1/8 was around 9.4. Don't remember my trap. With the 91tq/JLT my best was around 8.8. With 91tq/JLT, 4.10s, upper, lower control arms best time was around 8.69. 4.10s make the car a little hard to launch with street tires, especially having smaller tires 25.6" diameter.

can our cars rev up to 7-8k cuz our tachs go that high. I know its more stress on the engine but is it possible + more power?

7000 is possible, but I wouldnt do it, the valve train is not set up for those RPM and the rods probably would not like it. Also in stock form the car will not make power up there anyway

We just started using HP tuner on my 05 GT to play around and we turned off all the ford baby sitter stuff, moved redline up to 6750. Something we noticed in the code was in the stock ECU ford keeps the throttle plate at 40% open below 2750RPM regardless of your foot so we adjusted that out of the car. Next we removed the settings for the throttle going 100% closed between shift regardless of your foot and opened the intake butterflys sooner in the RPM band. We have for now left the AF stuff alone and timing as I run out the rest of the 87 octane but pretty soon we will tune it for a CL intake on a wideband and see how much more the car picks up. What I notice now is much improve throttle response and the added RPM on redline does drastically improve your fall back RPM on speed shifts. Seat of the pants the car feels like it picked up a .2 or so and probably 1 - 2 mph in the 1/4 mile.

I will keep you all posted but so far so good.

I am reminded of "way back" when I bought my first PC. Bought the 450MHz CPU, got it home and Windows says 448MHz!! You got screwed out of 4 RPMs dude!!

I think most of these guys that have it set so high (6800) are not actually revving that high; they are just making sure that they can rev a bit past 6k without having the computer mess with timing in preparation for hitting the limiter.
I set my RPMs to 6796 (Doesn't let me set it to 6800) because I have 4.10s and my tires are only 25.7". This seemed to help on the track.

Yeah, it was at 6,800. I changed to 6,600. The race tune is ridiculous! It's a blast to drive.
