get some drag radials or your going to be wasting your time. You can definately get some better times with some seat time. But, you will be slower than you would have been with your stock gears until you get some drag radials. Nitto's are a good combo tire that are great on the street and do all right at the track and they are good for 10-15k miles. Trust me i went through the same thing when i put my 4.10's in.

ditto.. the auto loves 4.10s and is VERY capable of running a solid 13 second (w/intake, tune) run with DRs ]

Even on a good clean launch I can still feel the tires fighting for every last bit of traction..

Exclamation Drag Times

my best time at a 4000ft DA was 13.5@101 2.0 60ft adjusted it comes down to 12.9@106 that was on MT DRs. my best time on stock tires was 13.6@101.9 2.1 60ft which adjusted to 13.0@107.. my worst run was on MT DRs, i got a 14.2@100 with a 2.5 60ft, i revved up too high and stabbed the gas too hard. I was spinning all through first. best advise. I have no idea what you guys did wrong to get your best times so horrible though.. for the most part id rev to about 2k, then let off the brake and push on the gas (but not stabbing it down hard/fast, just pushing into it)

oh and these times i got from just 4 passes at the track.. before that I ran 3x last year. that is my only track experience.
I only have a 1/8th mile strip where I live Wilkes Co., NC) and my best time was 2.1581 60 ft, 5.9941 330 ft, 9.0802 1/8th at 79.92 mph and that was with my 3.31 gears. With 4.10 FRPP gears, I was spinning out the launch and could'nt hook up. The only descent pass with the new gears was as follows: 2.2281 60 ft, 6.0122 330 ft, 9.1061 1/8th at 79.63 and I was still spinning at the launch until I left off the gas and got back on it.

Reducing the rear stock tire pressures(22-26 psi) may also help to increase traction.

The 555r's are their drag radials.

Are the nittos really a good DR? Does anyone else run something different? A buddy of mine had some 555r's on his Chevelle and they didn't hook that well..He ended up with the M&H racemaster DR's and they seem to hook quite a bit better...

Depends on who you talk to. I've seen reviews go both ways on the 555R. 98LS1 claims to have run 1.6 60' times on them so they can't be that terrible.
