Isn't the TT 4-wheel drive, giving it a serious advantage from a stop??

That all depends on which import we're talking about and which mods you have done to your car. Mustangs are far from invincible even with good drivers.

Of course you have a car that was built for the quarter mile ( that is where you would win). You just dont rev up as fast as their cars you were probably in 2nd and the other car was most likley at the end of third. Now if you want a stop light to stop light racer get some 4:10 gears. Plus turbo cars are very easy to upgrade. I had an SRT and just for $120 I cut down my 1/4 time from 13.5 to 13.2 and for $2500 I was in the high 11s.

None of those imports look as sexy as the s197...but the bottom line is a 3800lb car with only 300hp in this day and age, is in essence brining a knife to a gun fight! superchargers are a must-have if we want to compete with the majority of turbo powered rice rockets and bigger displacement V8s. but as others have stated..there will ALWAYS be somebody faster, no matter what you do to your car. its all about time and money and who has the most of both to devote to it all.

With the exception of some of the newer Z models, what import V6 will really stomp a mustang in a straight line stock? And as for an audi TT, unless he was modded or really launched the crap out of it, you should have definately taken him.

i think most of it depends on the driver but since you asked Audi s4s subaur STIs (or foresters like mine with sti motors) evos zs chevy colbolts and dodge srt 4s iftuned right pack quite a punch. I am an importguy crossing over to more american cars but i respect all cars in General.
