Oh yes I know. Was speaking strictly in terms of V6's though. I know there are quite a few potent I6's out there.

It's also getting somewhat tiresome having people post the same thread in multiple places

Are they modded / are you stock? 12-20k less? Unless you got one heck of a deal, wrx's are low 20's I believe

Due to AWD the WRX, EVO, blah blah will always have an advantage in a street race because of the lower top speeds typically run up to in such a situation. I've seen guys with very little racing experience go out and get 1.8 60' with street tires on a WRX. Gonna be an uphill battle matching that consistently with a RWD car on street tires.

Could it have been the Audi TT RS? This isn't anything to scoff at...

0-60 = 4.5 sec
1/4 mile = 13.2 sec

340hp / 332lb-ft

Exactly! a friend took me for a ride in a WRX once and he launched at high rpm , no spinning or nothing...just shot like a rocket! that AWD gives those cars one hell of an advantage!

No dude, if YOU'RE getting beat by imports YOU need to learn to drive with your 470+hp...

The OP's probably pushing 285hp to the wheels... there are lots of 6 cylinder imports that can give him a run for his money.

It is a SS. He said it was a 427....but then again he sometimes can be an idiot who likes to show off his toys. He does have an '07 Corvette as well.

And to complement that the cars are geared low from the factory. At least my friend's '08 STI is. Feels like it pulls harder than my car and my friend Mishri's car especially before he got his 4.10 gears in his mustang. My friend with the STI and his manual transmission got 2.0 60' times at his very first time at the track. However it traps lower in the 1/4 mile.

Those AWD cars are all about traction and yeah they can blow your doors off at the line. That being said, if you aren't afraid to drive around on drag slicks or radials and you know how to launch your car then it becomes a much much closer situation.
