An auto may help a lot if you drive in bad traffic all the time. Some don't mind a manual in traffic but they're just the crazy ones!

In theory, an auto will allow you to keep your arm around your chick too...

Pure peformance, I'd go with manual

Comforts and an extra hand to do crap, I'd go with auto.

There isn't a better one, just depends what fits your needs the most.

Americanspeed what clutch did you settle on? And are you using a short throw?

I have the Competition Clutch stage 5. It shifted really well when I first got it, but lately its been giving me some trouble at high rpms under heavy load. Not sure what to make of that. I do have a bunch of passes at the strip, so maybe its just time for a new clutch.

I am using the MGW short throw, but if I could go back in time, I'd keep the stock shifter. I liked the play in it, I felt like I could slide it into gear better, the MGW is pretty notchy.

I love my manual but if I did a LOT of city driving I'd want an auto. But the manual is WAY more fun. You DRIVE a manual. You ride an auto.

BTW, this topic has evoked countless arguments, TY.

Have you ever given the Mcleod a try? Seems popular.

This shocks me. Seems like everyone loves the MGW and says it's not anywhere near as notchy as the Hurst.
