Question Question re GT convertible

Hello all, my firt time on the board so be gentle

hoping someone can help. Im looking at buying a 2006 GT convertible. although im no expert, upon inspection the roof looks in good condition. the thing is i'm based in the middle east and have heard stories of convertibles suffering from heat exposure over a short number of years here - textile shrinkage, melting rubber etc. the car is a US import.

although all cars would suffer the same effects (if the stories are true) are there any other particular issues with convertible roofs on mustangs that i should be aware of? anyone have the same problems in the US..?

i know the best advice would be to not buy a convertible, but this is the first decent GT with manual transmission i have found in months...

any help would be much appreciated

I've never had any issues with my convertible since the car was new in January 2006

I have an 06GT convertible and never had any problem either. However, I am pretty sure even Arizona is cooler than the middle east desert. Best of luck
