Default 06GT with 50k, and 2 new issues...

Problem #1:

I need some help with this one, my power steering recently started to feel tight. I checked the fluid and it was in the middle between Max-Min, so I added some Mercon...seemed corrected for 1 day, then back to feeling tight. The tightness comes and goes throughout the full lock-lock turn? To make it odder, I drove the car two days last week while it was raining and it worked perfectly! The next morning after the rain stopped it was back to feeling odd...Please help with this one, ive checked the belt, ive checked for leaks, cant find anything?

Problem #2:

Recently started hearing a rattling type sound under my passenger side in the mornings, almost sounds like something rattling around in the exhaust pipe...after driving for a few minutes/miles it goes away? Wasn’t sure if that is the sound of a junked out Cat? Because I get a slight egg smell from that side of the exhaust as well, which are the plugs, O2, or Cats, I think? Please help again if you experienced this.

I haven’t changed my plugs yet, but I only have 50k miles. I have nitrous installed, but never used it...I did have a SCT (87) tune, but recently returned to stock for service. Any suggestions?

#1 Repalce steering rack check value (some last as much as 100,000 miles others don't mine went bad at 46).000.
#2 There is a Ford TSB on exhaust rattle at the Trans. cross member. Good be touching while cold and when warm stops rattling..........my two cents.

1. Sounds like air in the PS line. I'd research this one more.

2. There are a number of rattle related threads on the forum including at least 1 TSB in the stickies. Could be related to the tranny (TSB), heat shields, exhaust clamps or exhaust hangers.

Where is the steering rack check valve and did you experience the same issue when yours went?
