Factoryt Mustang GT Exhaust?
All righty, so, looking to buy a 2006 Mustang GT. The previous owner added a BBK intake and what looks like the SLP axle-back exhaust. I'm trying to find a factory Mustang exhaust picture or diagram to compare with this vehicle. I'm fairly certain more work has been done, but I can't be sure what until I get it on a lift. Any help?

Yeah, I should actually sell mine, since I have completely replaced it now. You will have a single welded piece, consisting of downtubes from the manifold collectors, H-pipe, cats, and continued tubing that lock into the middle section of the car's tubing. From there, it continues as two singe-piece tubes over the axle, connected to the downtubes which are welded to the exhaust (axle-back pieces) and the exiting pipes. Once again, these assemblies are all welded.

1 cat per bank of cylinders, both exit to an H-pipe (stock) or an X unless the previous owner did a drastic exhaust change.
FYI, the stock exhaust flows well. Any changes from the H or X on back will only change the sound. No performance gains are to be had with axlebacks or catbacks.

Yep, checked it out today on the lift. Catalyst and O2 sensors are still where they should be. The PO eliminated pretty much anything downstream of that. I'll need to look again the see if he removed the H/X fitting, but I seem to remember it being straight pipe all the way back.
I am vaguely familiar with the workings of an H or X fitting on an exhaust system. How does it stack up against larger diameter 'straight' pipes?

There's a write-up in the Exhaust Sticky regarding the H and X pipe vs. straight pipes. The X or H are for the purpose of balancing out some of the pressure spikes.
