a rear end swap is easy, at least for an 05-09 dont think the 2010 will be much different. since you already have an 8.8 it should unbolt it, bolt new maybe some small misc stuff, done!

You can have it installed, Not sure how much work it takes but a shop and ford quoted me at $400 for the swap.

Well its drivetrain, but having gears installed is the same thing as the takeoff as far as warranty.

Again, I would recommend asking Ford how much they'd charge. I'm pretty sure the Ford dealers around here do it for about 600 bucks for labor, which would make your cost about 850-900 total, which is still high. Maybe go to a few garages near your house and ask some of the mechanics if they know of anyone. I did that (after I already paid too much to have my gears installed) and found a guy who does it on the side (ASE Certified) and he said he'd install gears for 200 bucks if the parts were provided. That would have saved me some serious money. Definitely don't go to the places that are going to charge you 1400 dollars. Keep looking, you'll find the right deal out there.

Holy crap! The best shop in town quoted me $550 with gears on my '10. Take your $1,400, spend a weekend in Vegas, and have Dan's Driveline do the install, lol!

Be careful with the small plastic pieces you take off your factory rear.
You will need to re-use those with the new rear.
