Gas Mileage/SuperCharger Question.

Gas Mileage/SuperCharger Question.
Ok guys, here's a question for you. I have noticed that my MPG has gone down in the winter. I was getting over 22MPG in the summer time, but now with the cold air, the MPG has gone down to 18. Is this due to the cold air?
My other question, I have noticed on the dashboard display, that the "X Miles to E", keeps getting reduced. By this I mean, i used to get 330 to E on a full tank, now I just filled it up, and it says "298 to E"...like the first question, is my cars computer compensating for reduced MPG, and should I be concerned with either of these?
Any input?....Thanks.

In my opinion the dash computer is not to be trusted for any fuel consumption related measurements, but that's just me and I don't even have one.
As far as the reduced MPG, mine ALWAYS goes down in the winter. I've heard some theories such as winter blend gasoline and cold air stuff, but I don't really know why.
I don't know if the computer compensates for reduced MPG, but it is definitely a possibility.

Your distance to Empty rating is decreasing because your on board computer is seeing higher fuel consumption per mile. It uses your average fuel consumption to predict how far you can go on that tank.
Your engine runs richer when cold, and sucks down more gas. I wouldn't be worried about it. Also, the computer fuel consumption readings are not 100% accurate if you want real numbers keep a log of your distance travelled and gas consumed.
