No no, Im talking about a 2010 with intake and tune, not just a tune. As far as the mag, i know what you guys are saying, but a dyno chart is a dyno chart right? That's what they based it off of. I'm not one to believe hype, but considering the minimal gains people are making off of intakes on the 2010's, i think 13rwhp and 5 rwtq peak is quite realistic.

Well, they probably compared the 2010 dyno chart with a dyno chart from a previous test (I don't know this as I haven't seen the article). That's why I take magazine articles with a grain of salt. A car will dyno more in 50-60 temperatures (winter) than the same car in 80-90 temps (summer). Differences in humidity, altitude, and even the dyno operator affect results.

If you put the same CAI and aftermarket tune on a 2010 and a 05-09, the results should be very close. The 2010 has a better flowing factory intake and the higher performance tune from the 08-09 Bullet (hense the 315 bhp rating). So if you replace the CAI and tune on both cars, the rest of the drivetrain is identical. So how could a 2010 with 50 additional pounds be sigificantly faster in the quarter? The only thing I could think of would be the optional lower 3.73 gear that wasn't available on the 05-09.

Case and point... compare the results Steeda claims they get with their CAI/tune for the 2010 and the 05-09...
2010 - http://www.steeda.com/products/2010-...air-intake.php 20-25hp
05-09 - http://www.steeda.com/products/steed...intake_kit.php 38hp

2010 - 315hp + 20-25hp = 335-340 bhp
05-09 - 300hp + 38hp = 338 bhp

Very close!

Disclaimer: I think that Steeda's numbers are a little optimistic, but it provides a comparison point.

I will be getting a tune to make the car "drive" better....maybe I'll get a CAI later....mostly for the under-hood eye candy.

So realistically on a 2010 with, for example a Tillman All-Out Tune, with the stock CAI what can one expect to see? Is it just the responsiveness that has changed? Basically no HP gains correct?

You should expect roughly 10-15 RWHP gain, maybe a bit more, with a stand-alone tune on a '10.

Showpony, I get this magazine. I don't see that. I've looked in April 2010 issue and didn't see it. What page is it in another issue. To make sure we're talking about the same magazine, the one I'm looking at is 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords.
