Your buddy is not really a buddy, is he.
If so he would have passed on your gear install.
What tools were used for this install?
What was the preload on the pinion crush sleeve?
Sounds like your pinion is too far from the ring....

Are they FRPP gears or Motives labled as FRPP?
Was there a big M stamped into the ring gear?
M =s Motive.
Its been known to happen.
FRPP is not FRPP when it comes to gears....
I really don't know the name of the tools (hence, I'm no mec) but they use both tools w/ their hands and "air" power type of tools I guess you call them. The gears are def FRPP, they came in a white box that says Ford Racing w/ a pic of a red 5.0. I don't remember seeing a big M on the gear, however, I wasn't looking. My buddys also did a EATON posi to. I have some pics of the install, I'll post them.

Also, for anyone wanting to know. I had the car on the AC expressway and the car rev's @2750 around 80mph and I was getting a reading of 21MPG @ 75MPH.

As you or someone else stated before in shifting down mine do a little but so did the stock 3.55's. If done right it's 4.10's or bust supercharched or not.

I was not refering to the air impact used.
Any $100 dial indicators and magnet stands
used to check backlash specs and such?

If you were not looking for it, you would not casually see the 'M'.
Box types and labeling dont mean a thing....

If they're whining, they're not right.

Im looking to get a set of 4.10's too. I have about 11k on my 07 gt. I drive hard every chance that i have. Would you recommmend i get the master rebuild kit with it? How far is the break in period and can I just jump on the highway to rack up the miles?

I bought my gears from brenspeed and got the master install kit too. I didnt want my installer to be without anything. I had 17k on my car when installed. Yes get the kit. There is no break in period as long as the install is done correctly. But I did do several heat cycle trips before hammering it.

This mod really wakes up the car IMO. For everyday driving it just feels so much faster.

Ya, they did use a a dial thing that was magnet. My car read 8ish "backlash" I wana say.

There going take off the cover and put some new and thicker gear oil (we change the gear oil also when they did the gears)

There also seem to be a "pitch" coming some where from the car also, and I don't mean the whine. Its not very loud, but It'll give you a headache.
