I haven't checked to see if this tire package is taller or shorter than my OEM 19" set-up. It does seem like my RPMs are different in the speed range I am usually driving in on the highway.

I love the way they sound run ning around town and getting on it. But my car is got almost 17K miles on it now and most of that is highway miles and the drone getting louder has gotten to be a nuisance.

I am open to suggestions as far as wat to look for that may happened to make the drone louder..... I have new neighbors that I can't stand and would HATE to put something quieter on the car
That's too bad. Someone told me that if you line your trunk with a heavier cloth (or if it is full) you'll have less amplification of the resonance. Well, I will find out, first hand, next week about the drone situation.

I noticed my exhaust note got a lot louder when I put on the gt500 wheels and tires as well. I guess having more road noise from the wider tires helped the exhaust resonate thru the car more.

Should be about 0.7"-0.8" lower than stock. So the drone would have moved up a little higher in the band.

Sounds right because thinking about it I don't remember the drone zone being at 80 MPH. My girlfriend says she remembers I used to set the cruise at 80 MPH to get off the drone zone

I could be wrong, but if the diameter of the wheel/tire were smaller than the stock wheel/tire that the speedometer was calibrated for, then when the speedometer reads 80mph, the car would actually be going a bit slower than 80 mph. But shouldn't the engine rpm's be the same no matter what the wheel/tire diameter is because doesn't the car actually determine speed based on the number of wheel revolutions per time (assuming a certain linear distance was covered with each wheel revolution).

So, with smaller diameter wheels, when Wilkinda's speedo is reading 80 mph on the freeway, he is actually going a bit slower than 80 mph, but his engine rpm's should be the same as they were with the larger diameter tires for a given speedo reading.

Not a physics major or mechanic, but this comes from my very limited knowledge of how speed is determined by the automobile.

I have the Roush Off Road Exhaust on my 05 and the sound is great. There is some drone at hi-way speed but I expected that with a convertible. The sound has changed slightly with the CMDP change I've recently made but I have had nothing but compliments on the sound. I even had another Mustang owner pull up beside me at a stop light and ask what exhaust I had.

If I understand how drone works. Isnt it the sound vibrating the inside of the car? Which means that putting the top down means theres so enclosed area for the sound to be captured and vibrate??

I think you are right concerning the speedo. There's no way the car could no (w/o data input) that the diameter changed.

Now if he has a GPS and knows his speed is 80 with the smaller tires, then the drone/RPM's go up.

Sounds right and goes along with what I was saying about the interior panels rattling. I didn't notice the rattling with the windows down, it sounded great. Windows up, awful.
