Default Spark Plug Removal

Back in 2005 -2007 there were issues with the spark plug breaking during removal on the 5.4 & 4.6 engines. I know a TSB was written, but it did not also work. Does the problem continue to the 2010's or has Ford fix the spark plug design and carbon build up?

My son has a 2007 GT with only 12,000 miles on it. Should he change the sparks plugs now with a new improved type?

I was just looking up TSBs for the 2010 GT today just for the heck of it and I didn't see anything about spark plugs. I have an early 08 with the black boots and about ready to change out the plugs myself in about a week, 27500 miles of hard driving during the summer at the track and lots of highway driving as well... should be fun, eh?

Ford finally redesigned the heads and the problem went away midway through 2008

Some 2008 heads have the code sticker AA that means old style, AB is the code for the redesigned. I have AA old style but was able to get the Champion one piece spark plugs in with no problems. Glad that is over!
