left wheel sticking out?

Its normal OEM for the rear end to be slightly shifted
and shows when wider tires are installed.

I checked the wheels today. I put the stock ones back on and they were equal. Both were measured the same as well. I then again put the aftermarket rims on and again the left one was sticking half an inch. Could it be the tires I have on now or do I really need this pan rod

Check the back spacing on your new wheels, or swap the left and right to see if the problem occurs on the other side. I thought my cars rear was centered until I installed 285's then it was obvious it wasn't. If the wheels are the same back spacing you'll need an adjustable panhard bar.

You dont need the rod unless you are rubbing....

Maybe a MM or 2, but not a half inch.

This is a common problem that we all know and HATE. If you do in fact have a Mustang that has the rear offset issue, you will need an adjustable panhard bar to fix the problem. Lowered car or not, the axle is still off center and will require the part to correct it and bring the axle back center.
