Fuel filter question?

Clean the TB and run 2 tanks with fuel system cleaner (Techron from WalMart works well or try SeaFoam). The filter change will depend on how much crud is in the fuel you buy. As far as gas mileage, changing the filter won't do squat unless you've been buying really contaminated fuel.
I replaced mine at 24k miles with one from Autozone only because it was a convenient time; NOT that I really thought I needed to.

I glued a few high power magnets out of an old HardDrive to capture the rusty bits before they get to the filter material...
The magnets have to be properly placed so that you can install
the filter after the magnets are glued on..
Its almost like they were made for this use.
They are glued on the INLET side of the filter...
Got an old computer or any old dead HardDrives laying around?
They all have high power magnets in them by design...
Get the Torx wrenches out and have a look see...

- What did AM charge you for that filter?
- Do you believe that the filter from AM is superior to that from your local autoparts stores?

I think AM's was $15. I bought it because it was OEM.
Only looked at Autozone's website, not in-store. Website showed only a Champion brand filter. It might have been OK. I prefered OEM. And Autozone wanted $20 for it.

FRAM is the worst filter out there, hands down.
I have cut a few hundred open after the service life was over.
Pur Oil now Pure oil Later is a good brand.
Cant beat the OEM filter for value.
Its in Fords best interest to use the
best filters out there cus their warranty depends on it.
The aftermarket companies dont care how much dirt gets
thru their filters, just how many they can sell.

Hi guys! I've been thinking I should have the fuel filter changed in my 06 Mustang gt. I've noticed a loss in fuel mileage. I cleaned my K&N and it hasnt helped. I've been looking online and what I've found is that the fuel filter should be changed often (I have 21,000 miles on car). Well this caused a big fight between my husband and me because he said that it DOESNT need to be changed at 21,000 miles and that what I'm reading online about changing it often is wrong and that he has over 50,000 miles on our Dodge Ram (Hemi) and its never needed the fuel filter changed (WHATEVER!!) So I'm posting here for some information. Can anyone help me with this before someone gets killed??? (wont be me either Thanks guys!!!
I used an FG1011, I think it was Service Champ...
I replaced a lady's at work, it was a v6 that was pretty torn up for only 24k miles. Took hers off, and it had sediments and black gas coming out...
Made me decide to change mine right after. I had 40k on the clock. Took mine off and it was clean and clear. Maybe because mine only gets 93 oct from Texaco and Bucees? I dont know...
