ORIGINAL: drbobvs

I have an auto vert with steeda CAI and predator tune(I've used both the 91 and 93 octane tune) and can't seem to break the rear tires loose from a standstill.
I have the car in drive, I hit the TCS OFF button on the dash smash the throttle...and nothing, The car launches with only the slightest bit of slip. I don't think the asphalt is grippier here nor do I think my pirrilli's are stickier than anyone elses (34 PSI).
It sounds like I'm not putting out as much torque/power as others with the auto here. I haven't tried power-braking it yet, but it seems others here don't need to...am I wrong?

Believe me, that's a GOOD thing! I'm running a Paxton blower, 4.10's, x-pipe, tune, and I can hammer it off the line. I get a little chirp and then the car is GONE! It's a mid 12 second car too. The Paxton/Vortech are great because you don't have to baby it worrying about tire spin (and ultimately losing to the guy that's not). I think your car is very normal. Now if you want, power-brake it and you'll roast them all day long!

Thanks for the input weedo. I was thinking of geting gears myself, but I don't know where to get them installed. Opinions anyone?
Anyway, I just came from Powersurge Performance, he's booked til mid next wk. I'll have to drop off my car and pick it up next day. Cost is $100 for first 2 pulls, $25 per pull thereafter. $100/hr for laptop custom tuning. He think it will be about $200 total since i already have the Predator, Does this sound reasonable?

I have only a C&L CAI with an Xcalibrator tune from Brenspeed. I am not in a Vert but I am in an auto. I can roast them from a standstill, powerbrakes like a demon (will go though every gear if I let it), and breaks loose the 1-2 shift and chirps the 2-3 shift. I still have the stock P-zero's also. In fact that is one of my biggest issues at the strip is hooking hard from the line.

Ghost, you're not making me feel very good. Anyway, dyno tuning will be done on Wednesday, I'll post some results and numbers after that. If i'm still not happy I'm about to say screw it and get the C&l and sct from brenspeed...I REALLY hope it doesn't come to that, what a waste of money that would have been in the first place!!
