2005 MODDED vs 2010 slight mods
So....my neighbor and I have GT's...
His a 2005 hardtop...lowered, longtubes, CAI, Xpipe, JBA exhaust, dyno tuned at high end shop on east side of Detroit....manual trans.....a VERY nice ride
Mine>>>2010 'Vert ...auto, CAI (DeMolet), tune from Tunable Induction, Roush off road exhaust......
I was going to the store...he asked to come along...HE drove...he got on it a bit and liked it...was a little weirded out about not having to shift...but enjoyed the way the 2010 handled and the ride of the car too....he liked the subtle touches on the interior improvements...
I was a little weirded out about driving the manual....long time since I drove one...but, kinda like riding a bike...it came back easily....his car with the long tubes and the high end exhaust...make the sound and "driving experience" much more "old school" and increases the "fun factor" quite a bit....
The performance side was difficult to judge...the manual allows for different driving conditions AND we were driving each other's cars so I thinkwe were both a little "cautious" to say the least....
In the end...I think we both had things we liked about each other's cars....I definitely have EXHAUST ENVY!! his car sounds FRIGGIN' SWEEEEEEEET!!!! I do like the CONVENIENCE of the auto and a good tune allows for a very pleasing driving experience!!!
The 'VERT make ALLLLLLL the difference and that is what we both agree is totally cool....
Anyway it was an experience that I liked and learned from...take it for what you will....
p.s. The 2011 V6 i drove the other day was pretty cool too...just a bit "soft" in the shift and sound area....IT TOTALLY left a sweeeeeet dual tire patch after the break torque I put it through.....I had to let off to stop the tires from spinning....FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
: )
