Default Need some help

While driving the stang tonight I was getting on it, when I got to about 5500 rpm the engine when into fail safe mode, I was about a mile from home. T he car wouldn't go over 40 mph and acted like it was running on 4 cylinders, I got it home and checked under the hood, and seen a little smoke coming from the passenger side. I could not find or see anything leaking and nothing on the driveway. The coolant is full as is the oil. I reloaded the tune but it will not start, white smoke comes out the exhaust when it cranks. The engine only has about 2k on the rebuild and no track time.

Might want to pm boozeshey about this. Your description sounds like when one of his high flow cats came apart and plugged the exhaust. Unfortunatley for him his motor blew before he caught it.

Could a cat clog up with only 1500 miles.

I think his had less than that. New Kooks catted x let go and he didn't get it figured out until after the motor blew and he was disassembling. The mid pipe is pretty easy to take out. Less than an hour and you would know if that was it.

If this is the problem what is a good alternative to the hi flow cats without being to loud. I don't have to worry about any emission checks where I'm at.

Thanks for the suggestions, I found that the connection fell off the throttle body I didn't see it right away because of the shaker hood. Put new plugs in, runs like new again.
