I agree.

I have the shaker1000 and LOVE it. But a friend also has the shaker1000 with an upgraded headunit and it makes a BIG difference. The stock head unit obviously does not take advantage of the full capabilities of the shaker. I'm hoping to upgrade my H/U sometime this coming year.

However, that said, I'm sure they don't offer it anymore because it was not really all that popular (as stated above). An expensive option that could be done after-market better and for less.

If you goto ford website and configure and build the option for the shaker 1000 is still there with the 1295 upgrade price.

What aftermarket head are they using???? My 2004 F150 has a complete Infinity head/speakers/amps/setup in it.......$$$ but it's SWEET!!!! I don't think the 1000 sounds bad....for a stock setup. Love to make it sound close to my F150 setup though....

Worst part of the 1000....we're moving my battery to the trunk/added Canton resivor/ice tank under hood....NO where to put the damn battery with the speaker box in the trunk...has to go on the other side now.

Not sure off the top of my head. Next time I see it, I'll check. Oh, and I think the Shaker1000 is perfectly fine too. I love mine.

Default Shaker 500 +++

I'm completely happy with my Shaker 500. I specifically didn't want the 1000 because of the weight and loss of trunk space.

FWIW, I had the 500 on my '08 and have the 1000 on my '10. Trunk space aside (I REALLY wish I had the extra space for hauling music gear in the trunk) the 1000 is a much better sounding stereo and I'm glad my car came with it.

When I bought mine, the dealer told me specifically NOT to order the Shaker 1000. He said the 500 is much better.
