New the 5.0 would be cheaper sure.

You can get used C6 cars for bottom 30's with very low miles though. Just sayin'..

If I could keep my current car, I would get a Vette.

In this thread we were taking money out of the question. Were looking at just the performance of the 2 cars and what different people see in these 2 different cars and why we would make our choices.

A new 1LT for about $43,000....entry level. I seen left-over 2010 going for $36,000.

A new 5.0 GT 300A for about $29,000....entry level.

Dollar wise the 5.0 is the better buy feature wise and speed wise... unless maybe you consider a used Vette.

By the time you consider the cost of a new 5.0 vs a new Vette you could be far ahead of the Vette with modding for the difference in cost.

A modded up 5.0 is a true muscle car IMO. A vette, it's just not me.......easy decision.

It's more a matter of what you need. If you need a car as a daily-driver that you can occasionally carry three passengers or a fun car that can also be used to take the family out for a spin, then of course it's the 5.0 all the way. If you already have a daily-driver and just want something for fun, the Vette is clearly a more purpose-driven car...a true "sports car". I would have to go with the 5.0 because I need one car that can do it all...daily-driver duty + fun :-)

ask urself, dude, are u buying a car, or buying a toy? do u like the car or just becasue others say they are good? vette and mustang are not same price, designs are not same too, i would seperate them in two categories. Go with the one u love, not the one others love.

I love both really. I like the Mustang for the extra seats (even though they are small) when need be, and I like the Vette for their engines and transmissions.

For those on the fence, do what I did and buy a CTS-V. Sure, they're heavy, but handle great, retain the 4 seats, and have the Vette power-train.

I do suspect that one day I will own a Vette. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the other stuff as well . . . but doubtful .

This is something I thought about as well and basically it came down to the interior. I had heard too many horror stories about the Corvette's interior. Now that doesn't matter to everyone. If the Corvette had a nicer interior, I would have had a tougher choice.
