travelling a section of that same stretch of i-10 (houston to schulenburg and back again) i was able to get 26+ (according to the mpg display) but i had my oldest boy with me so there were no excursions over 80 mph.

i have also heard how quickly this car will get up over 100 mph. but, of course, i wouldn't know ANYTHING AT ALL about that.

The motor, though----Holy cow. I will take it on 200 mile trips as often as I get the chance.
I guess with the stiffer brembo suspension the ride isn't quite as cushy, although even stock ride I wouldn't call cushy compared to most. In that regard I'm sorta happy I didn't pick up the brembos

I did a 100-mile run when I first got mine to check the potential mileage.

Some in town, but mostly interstate and 4-lane by-pass.

Got on it some in town and on the highway.

Average was about 23.5 MPG.

On interstate at 70MPH in 6th gear, I got a steady 27.5MPG.

First car I ever had with a standard transmission that also had cruise control - had to do some getting used to.

Extremely comfortable ride and love the Sirius.

The first manual/cruise car I got was a '91 240sx. I didn't know you could get cruise on a stick. That's car is probably a "drifter" now.

After buying my GT in '07, it became my long-distance ride despite having a V6 SUV. The Stang got about 5MPG better than the SUV did cruising at 70 MPH. The majority of those trips were over 400 miles one-way and I did those almost every other weekend. Toss in there the 2 or 3 3,000 mile round trips I made and you can see I had some serious long distance seat time. Although the Stang got better gas mileage, it wasn't quite teh comfort ride and quiet of the SUV but it certainly made getting there a hell of a lot more fun.
