Default 2005 GT Maintenance Question

Hey Everyone-

I have a 2005 Mustang GT with a few mods. I'm coming up on 50,000 miles and I was wondering what kinds of routine maintenance I should have done/ should check for. I'm having my car go in for an oil change and I figured since I'm there, why not look to have whatever else needs attention checked?

Thanks in advance!

My opinion is, you dont need anything unless you notice anything. Save your money and have fun.

PS; I like your car, especially the rear spoiler delete. Do you have a picture from the back. Thanks

You don't do your own oil changes?

Other than possibly replacing the fuel filter, I don't think you need to do anything else.

I usually do my own oil changes, but I live in NJ and its winter- so to do it in my driveway would be personal torture.

I was thinking maybe the clutch, definitely the fuel filter, and maybe new rotors and brakes.

Get those stock spark plugs out of there ASAP. Read up on the proper procedure to remove them and hopefully none break on you.

This must be your first car. I often get over 100,000 to 150,000 miles per clutch and brakes; sometimes only 110,000 from the rear brakes. Unless you've smoked and/or warped your rotors, why do you think you need rotors?

You don't a new clutch my friend, unless some girl was driving your car lol. Your car is practically brand new. I would personally get the oil changed at a shop cause im lazy and dont feel like freezing my rear end off too in the cold. Besides that, you aint got nothing to worry about

100k+ for brakes? Do you ever use them??
I'm probably just too used to older GM cars, where you replace rotors (and sometimes calipers) every 30k or so...

I had my rear brakes and rotors turned at around 40K. I had a friend do it in their shop for an incredible deal for the labor. I just supplied the parts, but yes, mine were thin. They could of gone a little longer but I didn't feel like stretching them out. Granted I bought mine pre-owned so the previous owner possibly did a number on it. Car came from an area notorious region for stop n go traffic though.
