About 2 weeks ago Horsepower TV on SPIKE showed an '05 mustang. They changed the camshafts but I don't know the brand. They did NO other head work and developed a 60-hp rear wheel gain. Did anyone else see the show? The installation did not seem all that difficult. Of course, they show in a half hour what probably took 8 hours.

F1Fan, while not quite as flamboyantly, I do agree that BBR has got some proof to show us before I'm going to believe their hype. In that other forum, they spoke a lot with words (and a vid of a car with its heads breaking up) and not at all with dyno graphs - just excuses and silence when it came time to show it. As much as I want to believe their numbers, I think they would have thrown them all over the net if they had actually made the numbers they were speaking. I still would like to see what they got, and I think it would lend (have lent) them some credibility if they are/were in the ballpark.

F1, That's pretty much the trash i figured would come out of your hole. i'm a /bit/ skeptical about all of this myself but damn???? why do you feel the need to talk so much $hit about something you don't know is going to happen or not? it's already been reported that over 330rw was achieved on stock cam's. how much further - 70? ok, so now the cams and P&P. Doesn't seem too out of the question to me.

Now about the "I have news for you", "where's your common sense", "It's moments like this"... GFYS

60hp gain on camshaft switch? I am guessing that it was on a stock engine that had a tune. The tune itself is good for 20-30hp. So let's say 60 since it's a reputable source. That puts the rwhp up to about 300-310 if you are adding the 245 we consider baseline for the auto and maybe 320 for the manual. That still leaves 80hp for cam and head work. Considering my understanding is that the 400hp was without the camshaft swap, the number is back up to 140-150hp needed to make that 400rwhp number. I think my numbers are pretty close.

Just a thought.

Hi blackened,

Did you buy your N/A 425RWHP kit from yor friends at BBR yet? Just checking because I still have yet to see anybody confirming the BBR B.S. claims on an independantly owned and independently dyno tested S197GT yet. Feeling link you got lied to yet?

Where?
MM&FF? 5.0? fox news? link?
I call bs, you can't get 65 whp on comp cams stage III's on a stock setup. F1's got you on this one, the aftermarket world would have already pushed this setup on us tenfold by now

Hey, somebody is here!

65RWHP from a cam on an S197GT3-valve? That would be an AMAZING powerimprovement!I really think that the most you are going to see out of the Comp Cams stage 2 or 3 stickson a motor with ALL the bolt-ons is 35+RWHP. And it would haveto have at least all the intake mods to be able to cram enough extea air in the cylinders to find 35RWHP. That's not a bad number IMO considering they only cost $700 a pair or $1K with beehives and the matching steel retainers and locks. An experienced home auto mechanic could probably do it in their garage over the course of 2-3 dayswith lots of time for beer drinking and B.S.ing with the guys keeping him company.

I'm still waiting to seesomeonebreak 365RWHP ona pump gas,all motor stock block and 3-valve head motor that idles and runs like a street car. AFAIK this has never been achived and confirmedby an independant dyno.

Cheers!
