Question long tube header o2 sensor damage?

Just installed my jba long tubes and used it for about a week without the o2 sensor. I didnt know it was harmful to the car until i saw some lean codes. I used the car for about a week and ordered the extension kit and havent used it since. I was wasting a $*#$ load of gas but other that could i have damaged the car in any way ? Or will u have to wait until the sensors are connected?

So it was a total of 8 days or so the car was used. Only the air/fuel ratio wasnt reading so i was running lean , has anyone heard of a cars motor, computet, throttle body, etc getting damaged because of this ? If so let me know so i can prepare for it!

It is never good if you are running lean. What did you do with the o2 sensor, thread it in but not plug it in?

I ran my car with longtubes and off road x for a month without a tune. I never plugged in my rear sensors. I have them capped off right now. Were you running without the front sensors plugged in. The rear oxygen sensors are only checking for catalyst efficiency, the front sensors actually read air/fuel.

Was it pinging and knocking? Running lean can do some serious damage and honestly I'd pull your plugs and make sure they are ok, if you run lean for a while you can damage plugs.

No it sounds like you meant to say you were running rich, that will waste gas. Running lean is not having enough gas.

Yea i just read the codes again and i thought they were rich codes but lean codes. I bought the extension kit from AM and connected the front 2 sensors. (Need to purchase another kit for back 2) as soon i connected them i scanned for dtc's with the tuner and i still got the codes. I ran the car for about 15-20 min and re-uploaded all 3 tunes and no more dtc lean codes or checking engine light
