Default Good way to secure axel back mufflers?

I just put on a set of Pypes axel backs, and I have one that looks crooked. What is the best way to get these tighter and centered ?

Boy do I remember this frustration with my violators!
You can start yourself by loosening the exhaust at the muffler and midpipe connections and then trying to move it around for better alignment. If that doesn't work (and it probably won't), head to your local exhaust shop and let them take a shot at it. Major adjustments can be made by heating and bending the hangers, which will require a torch setup.
Pypes sound awesome, but fit for sh%t!
Good luck bro.

Go to the HowTo sticky in the S197 main forum and look up the install for the FRPP Stingers. There's a discussion in there on centering the tips that applies to ANY axleback. It's really simple but helps to have a 2nd person to help.

Also, I had a problem with one of the OE clamps loosening as time went by so I bought a pair of u-bolts (2 1/2" IIRC) and all is fine.

The U clamps are good ONLY if you never intend to remove the mufflers. They crimp the pipe making it practically impossible to separate.
If the clamp isn't getting tight enough, you could try a new band clamp. The pypes clamps are notoriously difficult to tighten up properly.

To get mine centered I actually hung them from one of the other holes in the rubber hangers. Worked perfectly.

U-bolt clamps suck. I prefer to spend a little extra for real, stainless AccuSeals clamps.

Also, on my Aerochamber axle back I had to bend one of the hangers on the passenger side a bit, but it raised the tip almost 1/2" and evened them up.
