Try the stock mufflers first just for the hell of it. Getting a real muffler will help a lot as well. The basic "muffler deletes" sound totally different.

 

I was really impressed with the Cherry Bombs behind a stock pipe. Though, the moment I put that o/r on, I could really hear the cheap quality of these mufflers. They just flat out cannot handle this much pressure. Friends/co-workers absolutely love the sound right now. Their opinions make we wonder if I am crazy for trying to change it. What is your honest opinion on it? Again, I love the volume. I just want something that can prevent/reduce the trumpeting.

M80s will clean the sound up really nice. They will also deepen the tone at idle. It will sound mean. Trumpeting is just gross. My car had it bad after longtubes and cams. Pypes M80s are cheap and well worth it. You will still have lots of volume, dont think of it as quieting your mustang down. It will still be loud, especially at WOT.

 

808, I noticed in your sig that you have cherry bombs. Would they happen to be the same chambered mufflers I have? (Cherry Bomb Extreme's)

Price difference aside, do you think just replacing the bombers with Borla Stingers would eliminate the trumpeting yet keep the "freaking vicious" (As I've been told) sound?

 

I've got my eye on a pair of Stingers. I think/hope that they would eliminate my trumpeting problem. Thoughts from the exhaust experts?

Replacing the mufflers did not get rid of my trumpeting. Adding the pypes m80s did. The cherry bombs are just resonators and I added those later to try and quiet my exhaust volume even more. I dont think they did very much.

The stingers will prolly quiet your ride down some but I doubt they will eliminate your trumpeting.

Trumpeting is caused because our mufflers are so far back by the bumper. Mid mounted mufflers solve this issue.

 

Roush05, I've never really been a fan of Corsa. It has always been a bit raspy to me. I noticed the guy in the video has an X pipe so I wouldn't be able to replicate that sound anyways.

These Cherry Bomb's have got to go. I can't stand having two separate segments of the rpm band trumpeting in each gear. Its completely ridiculous. lol
