Default 2012/2013 Issues??

I am shopping for a new toy and I was curious if there were any "common issues" with the 2012/2013 Mustangs? I don't want to start a Camaro "bashing" thread but my research on those found issues with manual transmissions, convertible tops, paint etc. and it's kinda turned me off of getting one of those. I found a 2013 GT Premium Vert with Brembo pkg that I like the looks of but I haven't driven it yet...

Very few TSB's for a 12 GT; TWO I believe. I have a 12 5.0 Brembo and I am having a minor electrical issue that Ford has never experienced. So, it's not common........... Nothing catastrophic and nothing to worry about. I do not know much about the 13's, but it's the 3rd year of a 5.0 so all kinks should be worked out by now.

Hopefully someone else will chime in, but I do not think they're many "common issues" with the 12 or 13 model.

No issues with mine except for a distinct gear whine in 4th gear thats been there since day one. Im not really concerned about it. Im at 2100 miles. As far as common problems on the 12's, havent really heard of any.

I had the check engine light come on 3 times. The first was due to a leaky fuel injector. Ford replaced the whole fuel rail injector assembly under warranty. The other times were due to O2 sensors that were a little slow in responding to the ecm. Once they were swapped out no futher problems.

Well...there's this...

Was just scrolling through that. I'm still a little nauseous from seeing that carnage.

Which o2 sensors where slow to the respond? The up or downstream sensor?

Got my 2013 GT a few weeks ago and about 1300 miles. No problems. But that is hardly a lot of miles

I'm not sure, I'll have to find the work order. I do know form reading this forum and others that a fair number of 11 and 12 owners have had issues with the check engine light coming on. From what I've read these coyote engines are very complex and are very dependent on the various sensors to update the ecm quickly. If say a o2 sensor was even a few milli seconds slow in responding to the ecm it can trigger a check engine light to come on. This can be tricky to diagnose as the o2 sensors might check out ok if tested individually. Some of the Ford techs may not be up to speed on this issue.

Thanks. I got a slow responding o2 and have for a couple of months now but still have yet to see the engine light come on. Guess its ok. But we'll see if it ever cuts a light on. Also got +15-18% longterm fuel trims that I can't figure out what's causing it.
