Default Is this fixable or replace?

I'm on travel out of the country and the wife drove my car. no problem, she can handle it.
Problem is she pulled into the garage and hit the garage with the pass side mirror which separated from the housing.
She said only the mirror popped off. no other damage.

Now, I'm pretty handy in the garage. Is this something that can be repaired or do I have to replace the assembly.
I do have the electric mirrors.

Sounds like you will have to replace the mirror if I understand what happened.

Easy to do, and might as well change out to the Agent47 style while you are at it and replace both sides.

So the glass just fell out? Or the housing broke off the car?

if the glass fell out and that was it then i would "fix" it but otherwise i would get a whole new assembly and put it on there. You can find them around in the classifieds and ebay for decent price. Many people have switched out to new smaller mirrrors

I was told there are break away parts on the mirror for just such an occasion. So I'm thinking no.

Yes, just the glass popped off, the housing is fine.

I'll plan on replacing the glass when I get home.
If there is more than she's telling me, it's replacing time.(the mirrors that is, she is a keeper)

Thanks all.

The glass should pop right back in.
