The canned tunes typically are limited in their performance gains compared to good custom tunes. You can run with a canned tune if the tuner has tunes that closely match your CAI but you'll be happier with the custom tunes.

Just save yourself some money and buy a package from someone reputable such as Brenspeed or Bama/AM unless you plan on getting a dyno tune.

It's best to get a reputable co to write tunes specific for your vehicle and its mods. A package combo is not necessary, I bought a C & L CAI from a friend then bought a SCT tuner and had BAMA write tunes for my vehicle. Nite and day from stock.

lilcrate,

Just like everyone mentioned, it's not the best using the canned tunes you can download for you SCT. There's tons of testing/research that goes into our Custom Bama tunes. We can tune for just about any CAI available for the 3v GT's. If you still need to buy a tuner, you can purchase a SCT SF3 through AM, which automatically enrolls you in our Free Tunes for Life program. This will get you 3 Custom hand made tunes that can be updated for new mods anytime in the future!

Otherwise, if you already have a tuner, you can purchase a membership to our Free Tunes for Life program for $150, which gets you the same thing.

Hope this helps some! Let me know if you have any questions.

Shane
