Default Idle problem!

Whats up yall. Im having a problem with my s197, have a handful of mods, jlt 110mm cai, jba long tubes, catted H, basani catback and a BAMA tune. After i retuned to get my emissions tested it started have an idle problem. Cold start, no big deal, warm start it dies right away. Anytime I take it out of gear to stop at a light or whatever the RPM drop and it dies again. Any ideas? No codes or anything.

Have you cleaned the TB and replaced the fuel filter?

Sounds like it maybe a tune issue. Call AM/Bama Tunes and ask them. They have excellent customer service and will make sure you are taken care of.

S197hoonage,

Try taking off the throttle body and cleaning both sides of the blade thoroughly. Dirt build up at the blade is very common on the 3v GT's and can cause issues like this. While you have the CAI off, you might at well pick up some MAF cleaner at your local auto parts store and clean the MAF too. Remember to use the MAF cleaner sparingly. It doesn't take much to clean this sensor.

If you give both of these tips a try and have no luck, then you should contact the Bama Team. They'll request a few datalogs of your Mustang and see if there's any adjustments that can be made. Hopefully you'll be able to replicate the issue during the datalog too.

Let me know how you make out with the cleaning process first. Then we can take it from there!

Sure is! Check out the link I shared in my previous post under "datalogs." The guide walks you through each step and tells you what parameters to monitor.

Once you've completed a datalog or two, you can email them directly to the Bama Team - Bama(at)AmericanMuscle(dot)com. Leave a few notes in the email about the issue or concern you're experiencing and a good phone number to be contacted at.

If you have any other questions, feel free to give the Bama Team a call at the number in my signature!

Different o2 sensor, but mine had a fluctuating idle (1200-400 rpms) that almost kileld the car that was caused by a bad o2 sensor. I only say that because of the long tubes. No CEL came up with mine either.
